I am an ethicist working on the well-being and moral status of social groups and institutions, and our individual relationships with them.
Specific topics I am currently working on include the permissibility of non-standard contracts like non-competes and NDAs, the risks of automation, community flourishing, and the moral status of AI and its effects on our institutions.
I am a PhD candidate in philosophy at Tulane University. My research asks when social groups and institutions can flourish, be harmed, or have morally significant interests of their own, and what those possibilities imply for the people who make up, use, and interact with those institutions.
My work spans ethics (from foundations to applications), philosophy of law, and political philosophy. My current projects address group capabilities, institutional flourishing, corporate rights, contract ethics, corruption, and the ethics of AI and its effects on labor and social institutions.
